    Love Month Mash Up

As soon as the Christmas tree was taken down in the gym this year,  a new set of decorations appeared gracing our stage and reminding us of the season to come. Hearts and rich red fabric remind us that Valentine’s day is coming. It’s love month! (Many thanks to Maureen and the fellowship committee for beautifying our gym!)

What is Valentine’s day like for you, I wonder?

The romance between lovers sometimes takes center stage. But love comes in all different forms. Friends reach out to one another with kindness and compassion. Parents love their children with selfless service and enduring patience (most of the time.) Children love their teachers by obediently listening and learning from them. What is the shape of your love?

In a fantastic mash up of themes, this year Valentines Day also happens to be Ash Wednesday, the beginning of lent. So while we recognise the romance which many in our world seem so fixated upon, we also remember Jesus’ incredible love, demonstrated through selflessness and sacrifice.

This February, may the perfect, scandalous love of Jesus, the sinless Son of God, crucified for the forgiveness of all people, both confront and comfort you.

Thanks be to God for His miraculous love!
