    On the Way With Jesus

    Here We Go!
That’s how I often feel at the beginning of  September. Here we go back to school! Here we go back to work. Here we go back to a routine that starts with crisp fall weather, turning leaves, and too soon will plunge us into snowy days and months of winter. Sorry, it had to be said.

Here we go also into another season of ministry at Grace Lutheran Church. It promises to be an eventful year! As you look ahead, what is on the horizon for you? What projects and plans are you developing? Or if you find yourself in a season of change, perhaps exploring what life is like in retirement, how will you spend the time you are given?

Throughout the summer I was reading the Gospel of Luke. I encourage you to read it too! It’s worth taking the time to savor Jesus’ words and stories. Much of the gospel of Luke (about chapters 10-20) takes place while Jesus is making his final trip to Jerusalem. It is a gospel written on the way with Jesus, as he presses toward the goal of his life: the cross. Reading Luke, as we will be doing during Sunday worship, reminds us that when we are following Jesus, He is always leading us somewhere. That’s a pretty simple thought, but it’s important.

So where is Jesus leading you? And what sort of follower will you be? Filled with His Grace and covered by his redeeming sacrifice, I invite you to forge ahead boldly, and plunge headlong into the exciting adventure that awaits. That’s what I’ll be doing!

    Here we go!
    With love,

Pastor Curtis, Andrea, Kara (Grade 3!), Jonas (grade 1!),and Judah (preschool!)
